Buying a door
How much does a new garage door cost?
It depends on the size of the opening, the Hörmann line and panel style, insulation, windows, color and hardware. We don’t publish prices because two doors of the same size can end up far apart once those choices are made. The on-site estimate is free: we measure, go through the options with you and quote the door you pick.
How long does it take to get a new garage door?
Days, not weeks. We keep Hörmann doors in stock locally, so if the door you choose is in stock, installation doesn’t wait on a factory order. We give you the timing with your quote.
Why do you only install Hörmann doors?
Hörmann is a German manufacturer, and its doors are the ones our installers are trained on. Sticking to one brand means we know how every part goes together and how to service it later, and it lets us keep doors in stock locally.
Can I get an insulated garage door?
Yes. Many Hörmann lines have a polystyrene or polyurethane core between steel skins. It matters most when the garage is attached to the house, heated, or used as a workshop.
What is included when you install a new door?
The new door with its tracks, springs and hardware, removal and haul-away of the old door, hooking up the opener (new or existing), and a walkthrough on how to run and look after the door.
Can you add windows to my garage door?
On a Hörmann door, yes. We can add window panels to an existing door or replace a panel with broken glass. Panels are ready 2 business days after we measure.
Commercial
What commercial buildings do you work on?
Auto repair shops, warehouses and loading areas, fire houses and municipal buildings, and self-storage. Whether you own the building, manage it or are the GC on the job, we can measure and quote it.
Can you work around our business hours?
Yes. Tell us when the opening can be out of use and we plan the installation around it, agreed with you before any work starts.
Openers & repairs
Can you put a new opener on my existing door?
Yes. The door has to be balanced and in working order first. If it isn’t, we tell you what needs fixing before we fit the opener.
Should I repair my garage door or replace it?
If the problem is a spring, cable, roller or the opener, a repair is usually enough. Replacement makes sense when sections are damaged or rusted through, the door is not insulated enough for how you use the garage, or the same repairs keep coming back. We tell you which we would do, and why, when we see the door.
Can I replace a broken spring myself?
We advise against it. Springs hold the weight of the door under high tension, and releasing it without the right tools and training can cause serious injury. Leave the door where it is, don’t run the opener, and call us.
